Whereas starship combat is very creative and nuanced in an elegant way, ground invasions seems simplistic and based on experience and offensive and defensive values. Otherwise certain unit have morale modifiers that help when a sector is less than 100 so act as peace keeping occupiers.

I think ground invasions could benefit from being more complicated. I see nothing indicating an explanation in the wiki. Maybe it is there somewhere?

Officer units who have tactical ability modifiers would be interesting or manueverability or range or various weaponry. Why not have a combat unit designer? Then units can be tailored.

For game design, it is always better to have upgraded units so human players redesigning don't have too great an advantage.

Maybe beyond an avionic squadron, you have mechanized paratroopers who descend after a wave of bombardment thus have even higher attack and defensive values? Then have armored tanks that fly in using something like attack choppers prior to landing?

Testing has proved that if the Omgega conquer the Cartare, they do not get to make Cartare troops.

So either mod it so they can based on some modding.

Or better, make Omega units for higher levels of tech.

Personally each has advantages as it would be interesting if one could assemble using a fleet paradigm using mixed composition of troops to improve effective combat results, but looks at the troops unit size topic.

I like the idea that conquering plus tech at 14+ levels allows superior level troops that might include Cartare working with Omega.

If you read the storyline, long ago the Khaoran wanted to fight using edged weapons and grimly accepted the fact that powerful ranged weapons then eliminated foes at a distance. But that was way prior to starships.

The way the Khaoran troops are written, they seem to just employ ground invasion infantry and that would be ridiculous...as they have powerful starships. They would maybe prefer attacking hand-to-hand after expending all their energy rifles, but realistically they would also have every other component like armored personnel carriers and artillery and helicopters and fighter pilots on the surface. Infantry with blades against tanks is rather silly, don't you agree?

I would mod it and weight the offensive and defensive values so suggesting a higher percentage of infantry, but being more realistically based like the other empires. Or the Khaoran are like hapless samurai going against gatling guns and walking into a blistering barrage and chewed to bits.
